After ascending an 80-foot sequoia tree in downtown Seattle around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, a man spent the entire day up there while police and firefighters tried to coax him down. The feeling (hope?) was that he'd eventually tire and make his way down by evening.
That almost happened but after descending for a few minutes around 9:00 p.m., he went right back up to the top of the tree. All the while he yelled at first responders, stripping the tree of branches and throwing whatever he could at the crowd below.
It's Wednesday morning now and, somehow, he is still up there in that tree.
#ManInTree still clinging on this cold Seattle morning. Can hear him yelling from top of tree. Stewart St. blocked pic.twitter.com/4aRbybVl2w

It appears that @seattlepd negotiators are talking to him from a window at Macy's. pic.twitter.com/XiK17vl3eo

He's mostly been cursing, but a few minutes ago yelled: "How much taxpayer money are you wasting? It's not an emergency!"

And so this very Seattle saga continues as we approach 24 hours of #ManInTree in a tree.
