This week's top hits from Eater Seattle, Curbed's sibling bar, restaurant and nightlife blog...
CAPITOL HILL—A skirmish between a bartender and patron at Bimbo's Cantina has become quite the Internet scandal. It seems a man named Andrew Meyer left a $0 tip for bartender Victoria Liss, and scrawled a tip of his own on the receipt: "You could stand to loose [sic] a few pounds." Outrage ensued and the guy's Facebook picture was circulated and widely vilified. Except, whoops...the photo was of another Andrew Meyer.
FREMONT—Cookbook geeks take heed: Seattle's first culinary bookstore opened this week in Fremont. Not only is Book Larder Ah-dorable, but its calendar is already full of events featuring local culinary notables like Cakespy Jessie Oleson, and big-time national folks including Top Chef victor Stephanie Izard.
KENT—Kent Station's newest restaurant is the handiwork of former Bastille chef Shannon Galusha. What to expect at Cal's Classic American: Upscale tavern food; pizza; cocktails; family-friendliness and an outdoor heated patio.
