The Curbed Cup Elite Eight: (4) Queen Anne vs. (5) Bellevue

Today we continue Curbed Cup, the inaugural edition of Seattle's search for the neighborhood of the year. We're kicking off 8 'hoods vying for the ultimate grand prize: the amazing JPEG trophy below, lovingly engraved in Photoshop with their name and given to the winners to guard until next year. Voting opens now and ends very very early tomorrow morning. Now, let's begin!

Today, our face-off is between the neighborhood nearly every television show visits when they need a typical "Seattle" set and, well, an entirely different city. Put 'em up, Queen Anne and Bellevue!

First up: Queen Anne. It's where Meredith Grey lives (apparently...), it's home to the Space Needle, and the going rates are all over the place (so much so that it makes both Under 2 Tuesday and kind of pricey listings look, well, normal).

The challenger: actually-a-city-but-we'll-humor-it Bellevue, where the rents are high, the asking price for a 5-bed is even higher, and even we acknowledge that it's not a neighborhood but everyone treats it like one anyway. It's also home to Bellevue Towers, a development so weirdly gossip-laden that it deserves its own CW show.
