Thanks to a move by the Fremont Neighborhood Council, Fremont Ave. between 41st and Motor Place has pedestrian flags to protect the locals from the super enthusiastic hybrid drivers and overzealous bicyclists that have been the scourge of North Seattle as of late. Presumably, you grab a flag from the barrel on one side of the street and wave it as you cross, then deposit it into the barrel on the opposite side of the street. Clever tactic or sneaky arm workout? You decide. [Fremont Universe]
