If you're into old-timey Seattle houses, Paul Dorpat and the Seattle Times published a story right up your alley this weekend when they covered the renovation of the Brewer House. The Victorian-era estate (of which there aren't a ton in Seattle) stands at 21st and Columbia, and it was sort of a mess when owners Raymond and Zia Hachiya got a hold of it in 1985. Think birds living inside, missing windows, and other such tragedies. Not a good situation.
Fast forward a few years, and the couple's put authentic materials and expert renovation teams to work to restore the place. There's a pretty sweet gallery of before and after shots on Paul Dorpat's website, so click on over to check it out.
