Northgate put on a big open house about their future LINK station, but instead of focusing on the structure itself they talked about what everyone really wants to discuss: what the heck will happen to the area around it. Among the options: a park, public areas, some art, a pedestrian bridge, and all those other standard things cities toss around. Not yet on the table: an Othello-esque apartment complex designed to take advantage of the commuting crowd. Missed opportunity or uncommon restraint? Your call. [MLL]
