Eddie the eagle, the male half of the pair of bald eagles who hang out near the 520 bridge, was struck by a car on Tuesday morning and promptly headed to the big aerie in the sky. Theories abound as to how such a horrific instance of eagle-cide occurred, but the general consensus is that the poor guy was picking at some roadkill during rush hour and got hit before he could escape. Rest in peace, friend. We've nearly caused many a fender bender because we were watching you instead of the road. [Seattle Times]
