West Elm Updates; Glow Center Benefit

· It's practically D-Day, folks. The first West Elm in Seattle opens in less than a month, and we're getting more and more hints and fun facts about it as the days go by. Key points: the spot's 15,000 sq. ft. and includes a "living wall." What does this mean? How is it alive? Is it really a wall? We have no idea, but we're fairly stoked to find out. The official opening is October 6th. Decor junkies, start your engines.

· A week from Sunday would be a good time to start feteing the fall, which is why the Glow Center benefit at Blue Acre sounds pretty great right about now. The organization uses vacant homes to house victims of domestic abuse, and they're raising money with a shindig that includes a three-course meal and snazzy cocktail attire. Tickets are $50 each on brownpapertickets.com.
