Landmarks Board to Decide Fate of 122-Year-Old House

Last month, there were plans to designate the David Weatherford Antiques building as a historic landmark. Now, there's news about another old house on Capitol Hill.

It's been standing on the corner of 18th & Denny since 1890 (then called Depot and Hyde streets) a tidy yellow clapboard Victorian. Now Rudd Development wants to put a four-story, 31-unit aparment building on the site. As Capitol Hill Blog reported earlier this year, Rudd has similar projects elsewhere in the neighborhood. Is the house worth saving? John Fox and his preservation-oriented Capitol Hill Coalition think so.

The Landmarks Board meets in Room 4050 on Wednesday, Oct. 17th, at 2:30 PM.
