Six-Story Hotel Proposed Near Northgate Mall

Sometimes you go shopping at Northgate Mall and you think to yourself, "You know, I just don't think I can drive back to Ballard right now. If only there was a hotel where I could rest my weary, shopping head." Good news! Gramor Development Washington has plans to build a 174-room hotel at, 9538 First Ave. N.E., just a few blocks south of the Mall.
The hotel would replace Marie Callendar's, which closed its doors over the summer.

Jensen Fey, the architects behind the Seattle Marriott Waterfront, would apparently design the hotel.

The developer filed preliminary paperwork with Seattle city planners and the Northeast Design Review Board is scheduled to review the project Jan. 28.
