Anyone who tells you apartment complex construction is on the decline has never been a blogger for a Seattle real estate blog. Cause if they were, they'd tell you every other story seems to be about a new or upcoming apartment complex. And here's another one. Our Vulcan overlords are planning a 216-unit apartment project in University District.
The proposed seven-story building would be built at 4041 N.E. Roosevelt Way and would include the requisite 3,600 square feet of ground-floor retail. There would also be 150 parking stalls underneath the complex.
An office building with two tenants currently sits on the property. According to PSBJ, both tenants are moving out soon. Vulcan purchased the property in 2001 for $2.82M.
If nothing else, it's interesting to see Vulcan venturing out from South Lake Union. Along with the Yesler Terrace project they're bidding on, they're extending their tentacles all over the city.
The city is scheduled to review the design this upcoming Monday at University Heights Center at 6:30 p.m.
