The battle over the possibility of coal trains rumbling through Seattle neighborhoods is just heating up and judging by the outpouring of dissent at a public debate Thursday, it's only gonna get louder and nastier. More than 2,300 people packed the Washington State Convention Center and most of them were opposed to the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal at Cherry Point and the coal trains that could cause multiple daily traffic delays as well as environmental issues here in Seattle. The proposal will be in environmental review for at least two years. [MyNorthwest]
