We had a lot of fun trying to decipher what the heck was going on down in Dupont with the whole 92-acre purchase that was possibly for Amazon but not confirmed. Between naming the whole thing "Project Granite" and discussions of a confidentiality agreement that didn't appear to actually exist, it made for some interesting guessing. Turns out the initial theory was the correct one. Amazon will be opening a 1 million-square-foot distribution center in DuPont.
Amazon will be investing more than $100 million in the new distribution center at 2700-2800 Center Dr., which will also create hundreds of new jobs and is expected to be ready by late 2013.
And so, we can now all go back to wondering where exactly DuPont is.
