SLU Expansion

The battle to rezone South Lake Union picked up an official supporter Monday when Seattle City Councilmember Richard Conlin endorsed the proposal in an interview with KUOW radio host Steve Scher. The proposed rezoning would allow for 24-story towers to take over the skyline while also transfer some property back to the city for affordable housing. Mayor Mike McGinn is pushing for the rezone while 2013 mayoral candidate Tim Burgess has criticized the plan's benefits to the public. [Seattle Times]
