Legendary Le Gourmand Will Close in Summer; Redmond's Regent Opens First Seattle Location

BALLARDBruce Naftaly, chef/owner of French institution Le Gourmand, announced earlier this week that he'll close the restaurant (and its adjacent Sambar) later this summer, after 27 years in business. Naftaly plans to retire in June and will start work on a cookbook.
CAPITOL HILLRegent Bakery and Cafe, who inspired the famous Portal cake, opened a new outlet on the Hill in a large corner space previously occupied by Online Espresso Company.
