Let the Finger Pointing Commence

Troubled kids come from troubled homes -- or at least that's the rationale being espoused by local and national news media in explaining the recent murders of Afghan civilians. According to said media mavens, the problem (as they speculate) stems only partially the effects of war on a soldier, but most of the blame can be hurled upon Lewis-McChord, the "troubled post" with a "severe leadership problem." Seattle Weekly is offering frenzied readers (and perhaps, also, members of the media) a paper bag to breathe into, as they calmly address the frenzy of speculation. [SW]
