This week’s post is all about sales and events. Have fun and enjoy the sun and the shopping.
You can pinball your way from sidewalk sale to sidewalk sale this weekend, snapping up great deals as you go.
West Seattle: West Seattle’s Summer Fest will be in full swing from Friday, July 13 – Sunday, July 15 with merchants and vendors filling the sidewalks and street with good things to buy. Junction merchants always put on a strong showing and word has it that vintage maven Dana Guyton of Sustalux will have her wares for sale on Friday in front of Clementine. Find summer dresses, vintage sunglasses, funky belts, choice wallets and jewelry and skinny ties for the guys for under $30.

Madison Valley: Madison Valley is celebrating the French Revolution on Saturday, July 14 with the first annual “Bastille Bash.” In addition to food, wine, music and activities for the kiddos, retailers like River Song, Veritables and Vian Hunter will be getting in on the action with in-store discounts and sales.
Queen Anne: In conjunction with the Queen Anne Helpline's Crown of Queen Anne Fun Run/Walk, this hilltop neighborhood’s sidewalk sale is always packed, with both people and great deals. Most shops participate, but in past years we’ve made some major scores at Queen Anne Dispatch. This year we’re making a beeline for Three Birds Home and Gifts to see what they've got on super duper sale.
In Other Events:
Trunk Show by Teu: Local teeny bikini line, Teu, will be trunk showing it at Horseshoe in Ballard on Saturday, July 14 from 6 to 9. Come gawk at the bikinis and art by Sean Yearian. Mini bites and drinks will be served.
Ample Open House: As part of the fourth annual Modern Design Block Party on July 18, Ample furniture is hosting an open house in their new studio in the Port 106 Building (4632-C Ohio Avenue South) from 4 to 8 p.m. The Modern Design Block Party is hosted by businesses in the building, including Tom Bihn, Urban Hardwoods, 2 Beers Brewing, Resolute and 3Form. Come get a look-see at what some of Seattle’s innovative designers are doing.
Sales:
Neiman Marcus: The Last Call Sale started Wednesday, July 12 and runs through Tuesday, July 17. It’s a chance to add some designer duds to your wardrobe at a significant savings of up to 65 percent. This one’s a doozy, with the aisles of Neiman’s filled with racks and racks of awesome clothing at a fraction of their original prices.
Baby & Co: Starting today, July 12, save 30 to 60 percent off stock from Lilth, Girbaud, Hannoh and other amazing, fashion forward lines carried by this much-adored Seattle shop.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: if you’re the type who likes to get a jump on fall fashion, the decades old Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is right up your alley. Starting July 20, and running for two weeks, Nordstrom reduces their newest merch from hot (and haute) brands like Rebecca Minkoff, Alexis Bittar, Theory, Rag & Bone and Marc Jacobs. Be prepared to fight the crowds – this is a very popular sale. Also on July 20, at the Bellevue Square store only from 7 to 9 a.m., there will be a Beauty Bash, with cosmetics experts on hand to talk fall’s beauty basics. The first 300 customers will receive free samples and goodies.
FYI: Butch Blum’s summer sale merchandise is now 50 to 60 percent off . Just thought you might like to know.
The Last Word:
Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends: Newly released, this new line of naturally derived fragrances and body products are just perfect to help keep sweet during the heat. We’re particularly taken by the Japanese/Brazilian mashup of Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit for it’s effervescent, uplifting and cooling properties. Available at Kiehl’s at University Village.
