Local grocer-chain Metropolitan Market is closing its doors atop Queen Anne after 50 years of operation. But cry not, fellow Seattleites -- all hope is not lost. Word on the street is that owner/innovator/grocer-extraordinaire, Terry Halverson has snagged up Magnolia Thriftway and will remodel and modernize the bad boy so it's worthy to house a new Met Market. And what of the 20,000 sq. ft. lot in Queen Anne? What else but more residential housing...Thanks for keeping things delicious, Met Market. We look forward to perusing your shelves stocked with fresh bread and tasty treats at your grande, new locale.
