In a few days, home state soccer hero, Hope Solo will return back to the Pacific Northwest and settle back in to "normal" life. Except this gold medalist won't be coming home to her teensy 1,090 sq. ft., $259,000 home in which she used to live. Nay, our baller of a blocker has finally upgraded to a house worthy of an Olympian, moving on down the road to pick up new digs in Kirkland overlooking Lake Washington. (We can only assume she chose Kirkland as her new place of residence so as to make it marginally harder for flocks of drooling fans to pound at her door demanding photos and autographs as would have been the case had she moved to, say, a swanky, high-profile condo downtown.)
The 5,330 sq. ft. pad is certainly an upgrade, as it now rocks four bedrooms, a library with a built-in desk and bookcases, a wine cellar, and a few more "bonus" rooms to really stretch out and relax those hard-worked muscles. And when she tires of just lounging around in her giant house, Solo can splash around in her swimming pool or work on her three-pointers on her private, full-sized sport court to mix up her workout regimen and "stay in shape" during the off season. This Dawg-alum forked up $1.2 million big ones to move into this place, but after getting her cut of a $1.5 million from the US Soccer Federation in addition to her $25,000 bonus for winning gold from the US Olympic Committee, she won't even break a sweat.
