Emilie Sloan Opens; Labor Day Sales

Friends, gather round -- behold this week's edition of Racked Seattle, where all the good retail gospel is spread by your girl, Ali Brownrigg. Check back here every Thursday for news, tips, sales and events, and if you've got fun tips for our in-house sartorial mastermind, hit the tipline at seattle@curbed.com.

Emilie Sloan at Pacific Place: It's nice to see some homegrown talent open a store at Pacific Place and that's just what busy mom, real estate agent and lifelong seamstress, Lisa Murphy is doing on Saturday. Murphy owns and designs Emilie Sloan bags, a line of infectiously bright and sunny tote bags and accessories made famous when Taylor from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hill couldn't find her Emilie Sloan cosmetics bag and freaked out. Remember that? Anyway, the Emilie Sloan store is where you'll be able to buy your new favorite cosmetics bag, as well as a rotating collection of clothing and jewelry Seattle-based designers, starting with dresses by Frock Shop's Suzy Fairchild. How's that for some hometown love?

Sales

Nordstrom Rack: The Rack's Clear the Rack summer clearance is upon us, which is both good and bad news, depending on how you look at it. It's good that you can save up to 75 percent of summer styles from your favorite stuff from the Rack, but it's bad since this sale signals the end of our sunny season. The sale ends September 3.

Asher Goods: The fellas over at Asher Goods in Kirkland are sporting a sale currently, with 30 to 60 percent off Kasil Workshop jeans and pants, Bridge & Burn shirts and jackets and RVCA swimwear.

Show Pony: Two, two, two sales in one. Mosey over to Fremont this long weekend for Show Pony's Porch Sale and Prairie Underground blowout sale extravaganza where Prairie stuff will be practically jumping onto your back at 50 percent off. The Porch Sale is on Saturday only and features scarves, soap, perfume, cards, jewelry, gift items and candles at $5, $10, $15 and $20, while the Prairie sale continues until Monday.

Seattle and North Bend Premium Outlets: Head North or East this weekend for sweet deals on already low priced stuff at the two Premium Outlet malls that flank Seattle. The deals abound and are too numerous to list here, so click on over here for the whole scoop on who's got what for sale.
