Nordstrom Takes Over with Topshop and Rachel Roy

Friends, gather round -- behold this week's edition of Racked Seattle, where all the good retail gospel is spread by your girl, Ali Brownrigg. Check back here every Thursday for news, tips, sales and events, and if you've got fun tips for our in-house sartorial mastermind, hit the tipline at seattle@curbed.com.

Bring on the Brits: While the clothes are official on the racks (as of September 10), the Southcenter Nordstrom is hosting a day-long fashion and styling event for Topshop and Topman on Saturday, September 15. Shoppers will have the chance to get styled and by TopShop stylists and beauty artists (oh yes, there's TopShop makeup); be privy to exclusive limited-edition merch created just for Nordstrom; get swag; and enter to win the ultimate weekend in London via Instagram.

Oh, while we're at it: Rachel Roy will be at the Downtown Nordstrom next Thursday, September 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. for a personal appearance in Salon Shoes in support of the launch of her shoe collection. Roy will do a meet and greet with customers while hors d'oeuvres are passed and informal models hover. Make a purchase of $250 or more and get a limited edition Rachel Roy t-shirt – and as an added bonus, Roy will be donating 10 percent of sales to the Pacific Northwest Backstage Pass program.

Reminder: Fashion First is tonight – the best fall looks from local boutiques. Get your tickets at the door at the Showbox Sodo.

Neiman's Men's Event: Starting today and running through Sunday, September 16, Neiman's is hosting their bi-annual Men's Event. Purchases of $600 or more receive a cashmere sweater.

Looking Ahead to Fashion Week at the Bellevue Collection: Downtown Bellevue is fashion show central during their Fashion Week, from September 26 through 30, with shows by Nordstrom, Seven Salon, Vogue and new this year, local, indie designers. The stores at the Bellevue Collection all get into the act with free events and promotions and there are many, many free things to do. It's a good time and if you're looking to see what's on-trend for the fall, a good reason to cross the bridge. Tickets to the Vogue show ($100 and $175) include a Bellevue Collection gift certificate and Shopping Pass with mad coupons.

Make a little getaway out of it and stay at a hotel for one (or more) of the nights you're taking in a show. Many of the major downtown Bellevue hotels are offering cool packages, including the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, the Westin Bellevue, Hotel Bellevue and the Embassy Suites, all of whom are throwing in Bellevue Collection gift cards with your stay.
