Hey, remember plastic bags? Probably not, according to surveys that say the plastic bag ban in Seattle grocery markets is working and many people are fine with it. According to one of the surveys, 34% of Seattlites always bring their own bag to the market while 32% more bring a bag "most of the time." Another survey says grocery store bag usage has plummeted 15,000 bags per month since the law went into effect in July. Looks like all those passive-aggresive cashiers who applaud you for bringing a bag and quietly shun you for forgetting it are doing their job. [SLOG]
