The skinny: We featured this apartment recently since it's located in Olive 8, where this season's Top Chef contestants live. We knew it was affordable but we didn't realize it was the cheapest Downtown condo on the market. 650 square-feet ain't much to speak of but the balcony and the view make it a much sweeter deal.

Size: 976 sq. ft.

The skinny: "A sense of opulence pervades every room of this 1 bedroom + den unit in the much sought after One Pacific Tower," says the listing. The dark hardwood floors give off that whole opulent thing and the views aren't half-bad given the location. True opulence is probably going to come from what you fill this space with, as it leaves a lot of room open to interpretation.

The skinny: This condominium is located in Madison Tower above the award winning Hotel 1000. Not only do you get a pretty elegant space inside the condo but you also have access to hotel amenities such as room service, spa, a virtual golf facility and 24-hour concierge.

Asking price: $450,000
Size: 1,087 sq. ft.

The skinny: Now we're talking. For $450K, you're getting a remodeled 2-bedroom condo in a retro 1900's building with charming touches like the metal boxes and tilted mirror in the bathroom. Lots of potential here.

Size: 1,377 sq. ft.

The skinny: According to the listing, "Manhattan meets Seattle." You'll get to live in the 1913 Fischer Studio Building, which is on the National Historic Register and features exposed structure living with industrial aesthetic. The unit has hardwood floors, swing open windows, updated master bath, separate in-unit laundry room and an office. Not to mention you're right in the heart of downtown.
