Seattle Arena Investor Chris Hansen Buying Up More SoDo Land

Chris Hansen has his heart set on bringing the SuperSonics back to Seattle. To do so, he's bought up a lot of land in SoDo for his impending multi-purpose sports arena. And it turns out he's not done buying up SoDo land just yet. King County records show Hansen recently bought property at 1757 1st Avenue South for $1.8 million.

Most recently a HDTV store, this land is across the street from another parcel of land that Hansen owns. That property is expected to be turned into a parking garage. No word on whether or not this property will follow suit. The land is roughly two blocks south of the proposed arena site.

Hansen and his investment team have now spent over $55M on land related to the arena project. And chances are, they're still not done.

The arena is currently in design review and awaits a hearing on a lawsuit by the Port of Seattle.
