This makes Thornton Place the highest-rated LEED Neighborhood Development in Washington.
Thornton Place, a neighborhood in Northgate that includes apartments and retail, was just awarded LEED Silver certification by The Green Building Council. This news makes it Washington's highest rated built project. Some of the reasons they were given this honor include efficiency with handling construction waste and building in a brownfield instead of on ecologically-sensitive land, wetlands or in a floodplain so they help preserve surrounding land .
