Ninth & Stewart Hotel Project Delayed Over Traffic Study

If and when it's completed, Ninth & Stewart will become Seattle's biggest hotel. For developer R.C. Hedreen, the issues that keep popping up to delay the project are surely making it Seattle's biggest headache. First it was a spat with local union workers that threatened to shelve the $450M project. Now, Seattle has ssued a "notice of determination of significance," forcing Hedreen to further study environmental impacts of the massive project. The study, which is due in part to the city's concerns about traffic effect, is expected to delay the 41-story complex one to two months. Completion of the hotel is still expected in 2017.
