At any given moment there seem to be dozens of townhouses being designed, planned or built around Seattle. We took a look through the design review board archives to see what's currently in the pipeline and here's what we found:
In Ballard, Julian Weber Architecture is looking for approval on approval on a four-townhouse project mid-block on NW 56th Street just east of 14th Avenue NW (1137 NW 56th St.). Each 3-BR unit will be tri-level and come out to around 1,500 square-feet. Each unit has a combination of private yard, a private deck, or yards facing the street.
Up in Crown Hill, West Carroll Architecture is working on plans to take an existing duplex at 1525 NW 90th St. and add-on a three-unit townhome in the rear yard to make it a five-unit property. It would be the third multi-family project going in on the block across from Soundview Playfield.
On to Green Lake where we get to meet "Sugarman 2 & Gentleman Jack." Those are the names apparently given to four three-story townhomes with rooftop decks that are planned for 6808 Oswego Place NE. The project, from Playhouse Design Group, will replace a two-story apartment building currently on the lot.
Now we head down to Beacon Hill where Playhouse has their eyes set on 2207 15th Ave S. and a proposed two-structure property with six townhomes. Each unit would be around 1,400 square-feet and include three main levels plus a penthouse space. Sorry, no garage.
Finally we head to Central District, where Playhouse has plans for two townhouse duplexes with roof decks at 1804 25th Ave. Situated on a 4,800 square-foot lot, each unit will contain approx. 1,680 square-feet of space. We find the salmon pink coloring outside to be a bold choice…
