Cornerspotted: From Fire Station To Fire Sales

New, 1 comment

On Friday, we asked you to guess what this old timey downtown firehouse became and where it was located. Walker-D was close with their guess of Sixth & Pine, but it was "Guest" who sounded the alarm by confirming it's the corner of 3rd & Pine. Pictured in 1906, Fire Station #2 was demolished in 1921 and soon replaced by The Bon Marche in 1929. That became Macy's, which remains on this spot to this day.

Check back Friday for the next round of Cornerspotter. And if you've got a great idea or image for the next one, feel free to send it our way.
