The tower at 1201 Third Avenue may have lost its longtime name (Washington Mutual Tower) but it has kept all of the grime, wear and tear that's been accumulating over the past 25 years. So the 55-story tower, managed by Wright Runstad & Company, is getting all cleaned up. Stuart Deen, an architectural restoration services company, is going to clean, refinish and apply a protective coating to the aluminum facade outside. The four-step process will take until 2016 to complete.
