Everyone's all "Amazon drones this" and "Amazon drones that," but everyone seems to have forgotten that before they were planning on delivering t-shirts via aircraft, they were planning on erecting giant spheres in the middle of downtown Seattle. Those plans were officially approved by the Seattle Department of Planning and Development on Thursday, ensuring that Amazon's three-block, 3.3M square-foot campus will happen sooner than later. The first phase, which includes, office high-rise and a meeting center, is scheduled to open in 2015. The second phase, which includes the spheres, is set for completion in 2016.
