The Curbed Cup, Curbed Seattle annual Neighborhood of the Year tournament, begins today. The deserving candidates will be presented in two match-ups per day through the week, with results reviewed on Friday. Polls are open for 24 hours, starting now!
Our second match-up of the day pits two North Seattle neighbors head-to-head in a battle to see who owns Stone Way.

In this corner…Fremont. The 2011 Curbed Cup champions, Fremont is a tiny neighborhood full of big ideas. North Fremont has blossomed into a tiny epicenter of food and fun. Fremont Proper is still the Center of the Universe as we know it. East Fremont (we're just making these up now) is becoming a trendy night-time hotspot. And Frelard, if you allow for that name, is a quality food & drink hub.

In the other corner…Wallingford. Usually considered the family-friendly counterpoint to Fremont, don't think Wallingford isn't cool. All the cool new stuff on Stone Way is on their side of the street. And they're willing to stand up and fight to keep out the things they don't want. Don't make Wallingford angry. You wouldn't like Wallingford when it's angry...
So, which neighborhood moves on to the Elite Eight and receives full control of Gas Works Park in the process?
