The Curbed Cup, Curbed Seattle annual Neighborhood of the Year tournament, begins today. The deserving candidates will be presented in two match-ups per day through the week, with results reviewed on Friday. Polls are open for 24 hours, starting now!

Our second match-up of the day pits North Seattle against South Seattle.

In this corner…Greenwood. This North Seattle neighborhood is among the most sought-out by homebuyers. It's been named among the best in Seattle, to boot. And even now, there are projects ready to go trying to make it even more vital. We're constantly finding interesting homes in the area, including ones perfect for NSA spies.

In the other corner…Georgetown. They say Georgetown is the neighborhood Fremont wishes it was. This southern industrial enclave is among Seattle's best thanks to a homegrown culture of good food, good drink and good people. Every week it seems like there's a new restaurant or cool local shop opening up here. Remind us why we're not there more often?

So, which neighborhood moves on to the Elite Eight and stays alive in the quest for The Curbed Cup?
