Ah, Metro 10 Cinema in University District. Whenever you wanted that sneakers-stick-to-the-floor-as-you-walk moviegoing experience, that was your spot. Alas, the old girl is getting a facelift and will soon be rechristened as Sundance Cinemas Seattle.
Improvements to the theatre include stadium seating, brand new digital presentation, all new seats, complete redesign of the snack bar, carpet, paint, Sundance-inspired finishes and a new full bar serving drinks guests can take to their seats. Longtime fans will welcome the news that the cozy fireplace in the bar lounge will not only stay, but it's being updated in style and form. This is one of only five Sundance theatres across the country, though Robert Redford's outfit will be expanded.
