Kemper Development Going All-In On Bellevue, Expanding Bellevue Square & Lincoln Square

New, 1 comment

Kemper Freeman might be hellbent on keeping light rail from ever reaching Bellevue but he's also doing everything he can to give the people of Bellevue every reason to stay put. Kemper Development is making plans to build two 14-story residential buildings and add almost 250,000 square feet of retail space to Bellevue Square Mall.

The residential buildings would be built over a three-story podium and would have 168 units each. In addition to the commercial space, there would be a 55,000-square-foot "common area" and 1,820 underground parking stalls. Kemper purchased the land for this new project in a $3.13M acquisition from the owners of Oriental Rug Co. in January.

This will be the second of two major expansion plans for Kemper in the immediate area. They're also planning $850M worth of expansion for Lincoln Square, which includes a hotel, a residential tower, 545,000 square feet of office space and 392,000 square feet of retail.
