How Important Is It For Your Apartment/Office To Be Bike-Friendly?

New, 1 comment

Welcome to Friday Open Threads, wherein we'll pass the mic to readers to speak up about topics of interest, distress, horror, etc. Have something you want discussed? Let us know.

It's Bike-To-Work Day today and thousands of Seattleites are no-doubt spending their commute today on their bicycles, maneuvering the highways and roads they would normally drive. We don't have to tell you that Seattle is pretty progressive about its cycling, even if it still has a ways to go. We live in the most bike-friendly state in America, rentable bikes are about to become the norm and the city keeps spending money on cycling tracks and lane improvements. Naturally, real estate developers are taking notice, by building bike racks standard into apartments and encouraging bicycling commuters to work in their offices. So how important is it to you to find a place to live and/or work that is bike-friendly? What are the amenities that were once added-benefits but should now be required? Or do you find Seattle's bike-friendly attitude unfriendly to everyone else? Let's pedal it out in the comments...
