On November 6, 1906, the residents of future Curbed Cup champion Ballard voted 996 to 874 to become annexed by the city of Seattle. It became official on May 29th, 1907. 17,000 Ballardians (Ballardites?) became Seattleites. Ballard got help with supplying its residents with utilities while Seattle found a place to one-day dump all its mega-condo projects. Pictured above is Ballard Fieldhouse, which in pre-Ballard High School days hosted organized sports for the area's youth.
