Gimme Shelter

Seven Seattle City Council members delivered a letter to Mayor Mike McGinn today asking that Highland Park homeless camp Nickelsville be closed by September 1. According to the letter, the council wants to provide up to $500,000 from the city's general fund to pay for housing and services, rather than just throw the residents out. As for where Seattle is going to come up with 100 housing units in 90 days, well, that's now up for debate. [Seattle Times]
