Described as something between "a Swiss chalet and the Addams' Family house," Goldendale's "The Red House" recently hit the market for a scant $156K. Sure, it's all the way out in Klickitat County, but we are talking about a property that appears on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Constructed in 1891, it was built for "Horse King of the Northwest" Charles Newell, the Abe Froman of Southern Washington. The house does include some recent updates, such as updated electrical and gas piping, a newer gas furnace and a washer/dryer.
