Beacon Capital Purchasing Seattle's Historic Exchange Building

Via PSBJ, Beacon Capital Partners is in the midst of purchasing the historic Exchange Building (821 Second Ave) in downtown Seattle. The price of the 22-story building is unknown but The Ashforth Co. bought the art-deco building in 2007 for $80.6M.

Designed by John Graham & Associates and completed in 1930, the Exchange Building was, at the time, the second-tallest reinforced concrete skyscraper in the United States. Awarded landmark status in 1990, tenants over the years have included General Electric, Standard Oil, King County Metro and King County Department of Transportation.

Beacon recently also purchased the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Seattle and is currently developing Bellevue Center across the lake.
