U.S. home prices rose 2.4 percent in May, which is the biggest monthly gain since 1990. But that's nothing compared to the gain here in the Seattle area. The area making up King, Pierce and Snohomish counties saw a rise of 3.1 percent from April to May in the latest S&P/Case-Shiller 20-city home-price index. The Seattle market showed an 11.9 percent gain over the past year. Homeowners, rejoice! [Seattle Times]
