Convention Center Rendering: LMN

SOUTH LAKE UNION—We're just days into 2014 but Vulcan Real Estate is wasting no time in expanding their SLU real estate empire. On top of everything else they've got going on, Paul Allen's company is seeking a master-use permit to construct two six-story office buildings on Eighth Avenue North. That's right next door to two 12-story office buildings that they're currently building just for Amazon. So far, no space is pre-leased in either proposed building. [PSBJ]

DOWNTOWN—With Ninth & Stewart looming as competition, the Washington State Convention Center is considering expanding. The center's Public Facilities District just paid almost $56.5M for land between Ninth Avenue North and Boren Avenue, and Howell Street and Olive Way. Adding the property could create over 500K square-feet of exhibition space. LMN Architects is designing the expansion [PSBJ]
