When we first heard Eddie Bauer's former Bellevue estate was on the market in June, it was asking $865K. Since then it had dropped to $829K in July, and then dropped again to $799K in August. Tuesday, it finally sold for $780K, $85K below the original asking price.
Built in 1952 for Bauer and his wife, Christine ("Stine") Heltborg, the mid-century modern home sits on half an acre in a secluded, private setting near the Glendale Golf Course. The 3-BR boasts three fireplaces, a massive partially-furnished basement and a huge patio with southwest exposure. No word on whether or not the home comes with a discount at Eddie Bauer's flagship store in Bellevue Square Mall.
