Yesterday, we asked you to guess where this shoe store stood in 1961. Absolutely nobody got this one right: S Jackson St and 24th Ave S, an intersection that no longer exists.
While the spot this corner once stood is currently a break in 24th Ave S, at one point it was more than the entrance to the parking lot to the Red Apple and the adjacent strip mall. The surrounding couple of blocks have since been completely transformed into basically a shrine of late '70s and early '80s development — and maintains a pretty batcrackers amount of ground-level, uncovered parking for its central location.
