Architect Theodore "Ted" Bower is known for many award-winning and notable buildings around Washington such as The Ogle House and Seattle's Pearce Apartments. He's known much more so for being one of Frank Lloyd Wright's long-term apprentices and one of the few to practice in Washington. Bower designed the 3-BR/2-bath modern home at 411 Erie Ave. in Leschi in 1970 and it recently hit the market for $1.697M. Call it quirk or whimsy but the lighted glass steps and the master bedroom they lead to bring some levity to the design. Downstairs, floor-to-ceiling windows and high beamed ceilings bring in light & space for the remodeled kitchen and linear fireplace to shine.
