It's been a rough couple months for Seattle-based megachurch Mars Hill. Peaking with 15 branches across five states, the religious organization has been retracting and selling off properties in recent months after an onslaught of bad press, controversies and strange decisions. After announced the closing of their Downtown and U District churches last month, the church is now putting their coveted Ballard Big Box space on the market as well, asking $8M. As Patheos notes, this may not mean they're leaving the space but rather that they are willing to sell off the property and stay on as a part-time tenant in the 39K sq. ft. building.
Incidentally, Mars Hill has also put their Sammammish location on the market as well.
