OPENING ALERT -- Hommage, the restaurant formerly known as Book Bindery, re-opened yesterday under the direction of new chef Nico Borzee. The French-born Borzee started his cooking career at age 15, working at Michelin-starred restaurants in his home country.
COMING ATTRACTIONS -- Building on the success of their Capitol Hill location, identical twin sisters Alyssa Lewis and Natalie Delucchi are expanding their dessert and cocktail concept Pie Bar to Ballard. The bar will open between Christmas and the first of the year. On Capitol Hill, Eater reported that the 15th Ave. Plum Cafe will be transformed into an an all-vegan sweet shop called Sugar Plum.
ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Popular Indian restaurant Shanik will be stocking Seattle-area Whole Foods with a line of three vegetarian curries. The plan is to expand to other West Coast Markets.
