The Seattle Department of Transportation has released its five-year Bicycle Master Plan and, if implemented, will bring about almost 33 miles of protected bike lanes and over 52 miles of neighborhood greenways across Seattle in the next five years. In 2015 alone, they expect to create 7 miles of protected bike lanes and 12 miles of neighborhood greenways. Of course, they'll still need to get funding from the city council, which is debating funding SDOT's entire plan at a cost of $20M/year for the next 20 years. [SBB]
