Description: The homeowners, a retired railroad executive and an attorney, had a desire was to restore the Craftsman-style house to its original elegance, adding modern amenities while retaining the charm. The main floor was reconfigured for functionality. The second floor roof was raised to accommodate a master bedroom suite. A roof deck was added over the breakfast-eating addition. Even the wood stairs were new, built by Neu Construction, Inc. using reclaimed Douglas Fir beams. A complete renovation, including a seismic retrofit, and mission accomplished.
