It might surprise loyal readers of The Inspector Lynley Mysteries to find out that their author, Elizabeth George, doesn't actually live in the UK. A resident of Whidbey Island, George and husband Thomas McCabe are moving to Seattle and putting their custom-built 5-BR/7-bath home on the market for $5.5M. They couple paid $650K for the 9.68 acre Langley property in 2002 sight unseen and began a four-year process of designing and building the estate, which includes a 1-BR guest cottage and 3-car garage topped with an office/apartment where George pens her novels. Inside the main house there's a gym, craft room, sitting room and massive bedrooms with stunning views overlooking Saratoga Passage. The property also includes 300 feet of waterfront and a well-tended garden. No mystery for Thomas Lynley to solve here, it's one hell of a property and abode. The only mystery left is whether or not you can afford it...
