Yesterday, we asked you to guess where these brick buildings still stand today. Nobody got this one: 4th Avenue and Blanchard Street.
Images: Seattle Municipal Archives, Google Maps Although it seems like a rare occurence for the rapidly-changing Belltown, most of the buildings in the 1962 "before" picture are still standing today, including the Charlesgate Apartments and the Franklin Apartments — just to the north at the southeast and northeast corners of 4th and Bell, respectively. If you're still having trouble orienting yourself, the now newly-renovated Cinerama, which would be finished in 1963, a year after the "before" photo, is just one block south.
